Cowgirl Confident

A grounded leadership program for women who are done over-performing, self-silencing and second-guessing themselves.

This on-line program is for you if:

  • You are capable, accomplished, and respected — but still catch yourself people-pleasing or over-preparing

  • You replay conversations afterward, thinking “I should have said something”

  • You work harder than many around you, yet minimize your own contributions

  • You don’t want to become louder, harder or more aggressive — you want to lead without betraying yourself

This program is designed to support meaningful change through awareness, practice, and choice — not to remove discomfort, make decisions on your behalf, or fix you. It’s about interrupting patterns that no longer serve you.

Develop language and internal permission to speak sooner, name needs clearly, and hold boundaries respectfully

What This On-Line Program Delivers

If you participate sincerely (not perfectly), you can expect to:

  • Recognize people-pleasing and perfectionism in real time, not just in hindsight

  • Develop language and internal permission to speak sooner, name needs clearly, and hold boundaries respectfully

  • Shift how you relate to authority, conflict, and visibility — with less bracing and less resentment

  • Practice grounded leadership using horse-informed frameworks and embodied metaphors (no horses required)

  • Leave with practical tools and reflective practices you can use immediately in meetings and conversations

  • Experience yourself differently — more self-trusting, less performative — without becoming someone you’re not.

This program builds capacity, not bravado.

What This Program Does Not Promise

Clarity matters.

This program does not:

  • Guarantee promotions, praise, or external outcomes

  • Eliminate fear or discomfort

  • Replace therapy or mental health support

  • Fix other people

  • Promise permanent or instant confidence

You remain the decision-maker and the one who applies the work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this for?

Professional women who are ready to become self-actualized and create a more meaningful life. The March 2026 Cowgirl Confident program is for capable women who struggle with people-pleasing and/or perfectionism and who are ready to reclaim their time, energy and emotional well-being.

Will I get personal feedback?

Reflections shared in the program may receive facilitator feedback intended to deepen insight and self-trust. Structured support to deepen integration is available via email and three twenty-minute 1:1 support sessions with me (available between February 15 and May 15, 2026).

Will the sessions be recorded?

The sessions will be recorded if you can't make it live. However, we hope that you will join us as the conversation is sure to be valuable and thought provoking.

Is this just for cowgirls and horse women?

Absolutely not. I've chosen to add the cowgirl flair because of my own learning journey, and the association most people have with the competence and independence of country girls. This program is for you if you want to increase your confidence, even if you never touch a horse or buy the hat and boots.

What happens in the Zoom sessions?

We will spend 60 to 90 minutes each week exploring topics that will help you unbridle your brilliance and stride forward unapologetically. There will be time for group Q&A in addition to curriculum.

What if this isn't for me?

If you attend two of the weekly sessions and find that the program isn't what you expected, I will refund your tuition less a $50 administration fee. After the second week has concluded, fees are non-refundable.

Comments from previous program and event participants

I can’t recommend Jocelyn’s course enough. If you get the opportunity, sign up and do it. ‘Cause it’s amazing and I think everyone has taken away something different, a little piece of their own and sharing that has
been really been quite magical.

Jocelyn encouraged me to embrace imperfection, which helped me create memorable and impactful speeches. What truly stood out was her knack for helping me uncover and bring my own inner stories to life, making my public speaking feel more authentic and relatable.

Jocelyn's guidance has been instrumental in my journey as the 2024 Calgary Stampede Princess.

~ Brooke Fielding

I have been amazed by it all. Jocelyn was able to create andguide me through a day that allowed reflection, insight, being courageous, and allowing myselfto be vulnerable. I enjoyed the time with the horses, and Jocelyn’s guidance in seeing a
bigger point of view in how I can
show up in the world. It’s been a
remarkable experience.

About Jocelyn Hastie

Course Creator and Facilitator

I'm Jocelyn, a speaker, leader, facilitator and coach residing in the Foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains with my horses and dogs. I work with capable women seeking to grow their leadership skills in alignment with values of compassion, acceptance, appreciation, mutual respect and integrity. My mission is to empower them to standout authentically and honor their empathy while leading with cowgirl confidence - the crossroads of tenderness and toughness, truth and tact.

A lifelong learner, I’ve spent decades exploring the essence of leadership through industry roles, volunteer organizations, and success in the horse show world. For both people and horses, I believe that leadership, trust, and safety begin within.

With over 30 years of experience as a CPA/CGA (Chartered Professional Accountant) and as a breeder and competitor in the Peruvian Horse show world, I bring a unique combination of practical expertise and relational insight to my work. Recognizing the profound leadership lessons and healing I gained from working with horses, I completed a two-year certification in equine-assisted personal development in 2012. That training proved vital when I faced advanced-stage cancer in 2014, helping me survive, heal and redefine my purpose.

The cancer experience inspired me to pivot my career toward leadership developmentand communication. I've been coaching the Calgary Stampede and First Nations Princesses (who appear at around 400 events annually) since 2023.
Through my journey, I’ve discovered that my true contribution extends far beyond preparing financial reports. I am passionate about helping others cultivate compassionate leadership, grounded in mutual respect, empathy, and the critical distinction between management and leadership.
