Equine Evening Escapes

An evening on the ranch with the horses —
and the women they choose to show us.

What awaits you

The horses don't know your title.
That's the point.

You spend your days leading — in boardrooms, at kitchen tables, in community. You know how to hold the room. You know how to show up.

But there's a kind of exhaustion that comes with always being the one who has it together. A quiet cost to the gap between who you are and how you're showing up.

The horses respond to your presence. Your groundedness. The truth of how you're actually showing up in that moment.

An Equine Evening Escape is an invitation to step outside the performance for a few hours — into something slower, more honest, and surprisingly revealing. No riding required. No horse experience necessary. Just you, the land, and whatever the horses decide to show us.

The evening

How the evening unfolds

6:00 PM We begin to gather

6:45 Opening circle

We settle in. A grounding discussion to bring everyone into the space.

One or two horses move freely in the round pen. We observe together — what are they showing us about herd dynamics, leadership, and presence? Jocelyn guides the conversation.

What's alive for you?

The floor opens. We turn toward what's actually happening in the room. Not everyone will step into the round pen — but those who witness carry something home too. Borrowed benefit is real.

Closing circle

We close together, unhurried. The evening ends when it's ready to.

This evening is for you if...

You lead. And you're ready
to be honest about the cost.

  • You're capable and accomplished — and something still feels slightly off
  • You want one evening that's genuinely for you — not networking, not training
  • You've been choosing between connection and respect for too long
  • You're curious what the horses might notice that the people in your life haven't
  • You lead in community, not just in corporate — and you carry that weight too
  • You're eager for grounding in nature, away from screens and obligations

After having the experience of leading someone undeniably bigger and stronger than you are (without bullying, bribery or coercion), you will be changed.

You’ll leave with practical insight you can bring into everyday life: leadership, relationships, family, teams, communication.

What women experience at the ranch.

I came expecting a peaceful weekend. What I experienced was something far deeper.

I felt completely safe to show up as my authentic self, something I didn’t realize I was missing. The work with the horses helped me reconnect with how I truly feel without judgment.

I left with a sense of peace, clarity, and direction that is already shaping both my personal and professional life.

Jocelyn was able to create and guide me through a day that allowed reflection, insight, being courageous, and allowing myself to be vulnerable.

I enjoyed the time with the horses, and Jocelyn’s guidance in seeing a bigger point of view in how I can show up in the world. It’s been a remarkable experience.

I can’t recommend Jocelyn’s event enough.

If you get the opportunity, sign up and do it.

‘Cause it’s amazing and I think everyone has taken away something different, a little piece of their own and sharing that has been really been quite magical.

Meet Jocelyn Hastie

Jocelyn has been working at the intersection of horses, women, and leadership for over a decade from her ranch in the foothills of the Rockies near Okotoks. A former CPA and cancer survivor, she brings rigorous structure and hard-won wisdom to a space that is anything but ordinary.

Her framework — the Cowgirl's Compass — is built around four capacities: Tenderness, Toughness, Truth, and Tact. Not as fixed traits. As a range you learn to move across, without losing yourself in the process.

The evenings are small and intentional. There's room for you.
